Link Manager: Adding Links

You can add links to Link Manager in the following five ways:

1. Add Links Manually

  1. Go to SEO > Link Manager.
  2. Click on the Add Link button. This opens what Raven calls a Link Record.

  3. Add Link Details. Add the Owner of the link (the person assigned to the link), the Status (there are several basic options and you can create your own) and the link type (also with several basic options, plus you can create your own).

Then you can add the anchor kind, the anchor text, the link Destination URL, the Website URL and the Website Type. Click the Description Tab if you'd like to add a description. You can add additional information to the link once it's added. For complete definitions of these terms, see the Raven Knowledge Base Link Records article.

  4. Click the Submit the button.

2. Bulk Import Links with a CSV

3. Add Links From Research Tools

Here are some places in Raven you can discover links and then add them directly to Link Manager:

  1. Backlink Explorer (SEO > Backlink Explorer)
  2. Research Central (Research > Websites > Research Central > Backlinks)
  3. Site Finder (SEO > Site Finder)

4. Add Links From the Firefox Toolbar

If you use Firefox, you can download the Firefox Toolbar to use Raven as as you browse. Here is how to add a link from the toolbar:

  1. As you're browsing online, click on the Add Link button while you're on the website page you want to build a link to.
  2. Raven creates a Link Record and auto-fills as much information as possible and opens the Link Record in a new browser tab or window.

5. Auto-Import Google Analytics Links

If you have a Google Analytics account connected to Campaign > Google Analytics, you can have new referrers automatically imported into Link Manager as they are tracked via Google Analytics. When backlinks are added to Link Manger from Google, only the Website URL and Destination URL are included in the new active link record. However, if link monitoring is on for all links for the current website, then data such as anchor text will be added during the monitoring process.

Here is how to turn this setting on.

  1. Go to Campaign > Google Analytics and click Tool Options button. From the drop-down menu select Customize Settings.

  2. Check Enable under Auto-Import.

  3. Click the Submit button.
