Branded keywords words and phrases associated with a brand name or a variation of a brand name. Brand Segmentation allows you to create quick filters for those phrases, giving you an overview of your data, with, without or exclusively listing the unique phrases associated with your client, brand or products.

An example of branded keywords for Raven Tools could be "Raven," "Raventools" or "Raven SEO Tools." Brand Segmentation makes this data easy to filter in a number of tools, including Keyword Manager, Google Search Analytics and Bing Webmaster Tools.

Setting Up Brand Segmentation

  1. Navigate to Settings > Campaign Settings.
  2. Scroll towards the middle of the page and find the Brand Segmentation section. To enable click the checkbox next to Enable Brand Segmentation.
  3. Add your branded keywords or keyword phrases. You can add up to 5 keywords or keywords phrases.
  4. Click the Save Settings button.

As you navigate through the various tools within Raven, you'll now see a brand label where your setting will apply. Brand Segmentation applies to keyword mentioning these phrases, so setting up "Raven" as a segment would apply this tag to "Raven", "Raven Tools" and even "Edgar Allen Poe's The Raven."
