How do I create a custom Quality Score?

The Quality section in Research Central allows you to create customizable quality scores based on the metrics that are most important to their goals. A typical quality score performs an analysis of high-level factors that determine a website's trustworthiness. Search engines consider trustworthiness as a major element in the determination of how or if your website or domain will appear in organic searches.

Raven supplies a default Quality Analyzer score, but if you want to report on specific content, you can create your own score:

  1. When researching a domain or URL in Research Central, navigate to the Quality section.
  2. Click Add More at the bottom of the list on the left.
  3. Add your metrics. Be sure to choose the correct metrics – more than 25 metrics from Authority & Ranking, Social Metrics and Site Metrics are available, many in both Domain and URL form.
  4. Title and describe your Quality Score. Both of these will be visible when other users on your account view the Score.
  5. Set your permissions. Quality Scores can be set to Global, Profile Only or User Only. The default is set to Profile Only, but permissions can be changed at any time.
  6. Adjust your modules influence and segmentation. The sliders for each module allows for customizing the weight (how much influence a metric has on your total score) and what segments are considered positive, negative and neutral. Simply move the sliders to adjust these points.
  7. Click the Save button next to the editor header at the top of the page.

When you create a new Quality Score, it will automatically be added to the Summary section of Research Central, as well as to the Quality Score widget in Reports.

The title will be noted above the Score and the description will appear when a user hovers over it. If you'd prefer not to have this Score noted in your dashboard, you can remove it by clicking the X in the top right corner when hovering over it on the Summary tab.
