What are Rank Positioning Checks? How many keywords can I track?

Follow

Rank Positioning Checks, or RPCs, are used whenever you use SERP Tracker to check the ranking of a keyword on a given search engine. These are different from keywords, as you can generate multiple RPCs from the same keyword by checking that phrase more than once per month or on different search engines.

The RPCs generated by a single keyword are calculated by multiplying the frequency that a keyword is checked—Daily, Weekly, or Monthly—by the number of search engine variations that you're checking.

So, for example, let's say that you're checking your ranking for "taco trucks in maryland." You've decided to receive weekly ranking updates and need to report on the following search engines:

  • Google
  • Google in Baltimore, MA
  • Google in Washington, DC
  • Bing
  • Yahoo

To find your projected RPCs for that keyword, you would multiple 4 (the number of weeks in a month) by 5 (the number of search engines and variants you're checking): 25 RPCs per month.

How many RPCs do I get with my account?

All Raven customers get 1200 RPCs to use as part of their subscription. Need more? No problem! Each additional RPC beyond your initial 1200 costs $0.003. You'll always be able to see your overall usage at the top of SERP Tracker and, for Account Owners, on the Usage page.
