Change only certain section dates to a date range

Each month when we run reports, we go into the report settings and select the date range and comparison date range and then select "Change all section dates to this date range". Most of our sections are month over month comparisons, but we always have a year over year comparison as well, and in some cases we have custom date ranges. I would like the ability to change only certain sections at one time within the report.
